A few musings…

Filed under: Morning Musings — jackie @ 8:40 am

Good morning readers.

Sorry it’s been so quiet around here. Like everyone else, I’m in summer mode which means frantically trying to get lots of stuff done before fall. Though most of the time I feel like I’m chasing my tail.

Some exciting news…I won a small scholarship from my art school for next year. It’s def. enough to help pay for art supplies and makes me feel good about the art that I have been doing.

Being a marketers dream, I have my eye on one of these in the near future. It’s the coolest little device from Polaroid that will allow you to print photos from your camera phone or P&S digital camera while you’re out and about. The photos are the perfect size for even a small journal like the Moleskine so there is no more waiting until you get home to add photos to your journal. Another cool feature is that the photos have adhesve on the back so you don’t need to carry tape or glue.

Of note…

Rhonda, of My Handbound Books, has made this really cool coptic bound book that has a picture on the spine. This would be really neat to do with a photo also.

I’ve added a few new links to the tutorials around the web page.

I hope everyone has a great day..

  2. I’m pretty stoked about it. It was based on a portfolio submission so it makes me feel pretty good about my progress.

  3. First, congratulations on your scholarship!

Second, the Polaroid PoGo is really cool. It looks like they still have some tricks up their sleeve regarding instant gratification in the camera world, after all.

  4. Brian,

I went to Best Buy and checked them out and got a brochure. The cost is $149 for the machine and the paper packets are $3.99 for 10 sheets and $9.99 for 30 sheets. Pretty reasonable I think.
The machine is a nice size. I’ve read that the photo quality doesn’t pop but I’ve not seen an actual sample to make a judgement for myself.
The idea is pretty cool. Gotta give it to Polaroid for keeping up with the times and making things instant.
