Super Sunday musings…

Filed under: Morning Musings — jackie @ 10:14 am

Good morning readers…

It’s Super Bowl Sunday here in the states.  Everyone that is even remotely interested in football (and some that aren’t) will be ensconced in front of the television set this afternoon. I’m amazed they haven’t declared it a national holiday yet.

The rest of us will be taking advantage of the store sales and the lack of crowds at the movies. Our local knitting and quilting stores always have a big sale on this day.

Speaking of that, I am so looking forward to going to the Mid Atlantic Quilt Festival at the end of this month. It’s a great place to get hard to find items and unique fabrics and items to use in book covers. Last year I found a booth that had Dupioni silk fat quarters in many colors that I can’t get locally.

On a different note…

Week after next is Valentine’s day. Below are a few tutorials for little items you might want to make your sweetie or a special friend.

A Valentine’s book made out of paper lunch bags.

A whole bunch of Valentine tutorials for making cards, books, mobiles, etc. Geared towards children but fun for adults too.

Here’s a nice group of Valentine card tutorials.

Penny Sanford’s heart yo-yo pattern. These are simple to make and nice for decorating gift packages with.

I’m still in the process of updating the bookbinding tutorial links page so check back now and then for some new links.

Updated information on the Gocco I have for sale can be found here.

I hope everyone has a great day.
