Filed under: Morning Musings — jackie @ 12:34 pm

 500 posts

Good morning readers!

Can you believe it? 500 posts!

When I first started this site and blog I had no idea what I was going to post about on a day to day basis. I guess I didn’t have any problems as here we are at #500 and I am still going strong.

This year will also be my second year posting on this site. In March we’ll celebrate year #2 with a look back over the past two years and maybe even have a few guests come by.

In celebration of my 500th post I’m having a little giveaway. A little book arts related gift. If you post a comment here between now and tommorrow evening (Sunday 1/6), at say around 6 pm eastern US time, I’ll put your name in a jar and have my lovely assistant pull one. Don’t be shy. I’d love to hear from everyone that stops by. :)

Thanks to all of you that continually check back to see what I’m up to. I hope to be around for many more posts to come.

  2. Quite an accomplishment! I’ve never started a blog because I don’t want to feel obligated to keep it up :)
Love the links you provide. Thanks.

  3. I found your blog because I would like to try to make a practical daily sketchbook for myself with a variety of papers. I’ve learned a lot from your posts and your links. Congratulations on your impressive 500-posts milestone — and here’s to 500 more!

  4. Hey Jackie,

500 postings (and many more in the Book Arts Forum :-) - that’s a lot.

Congratulations, and off we go for the next 500 !

P.S. I just remembered a poem we read at school, “The Charge of the Light Brigade” by Alfred Lord Tennyson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charge_of_the_Light_Brigade#Poem_Text). I changed a bit and cite the end of it:

    All the world wonder’d.
    Honour the charge she made!
Honour the postings we rade [read],
    Noble five hundred!

  8. Congratulations on your stickability. I’m finding your blog so useful and I have subscribed and added a few stars so that I can find things again. I like the challenge idea. I’m not sure I have time to take part at the moment because I must finish class samples & artists books to exhibit but I think the idea is great and if I get distracted you will probably find me submitting a challenge.

  9. Congratulations and thanks so much for starting and continuing this useful blog.

I’m having a good laugh at a typo you made responding to Valentine’s day - sediment instead of sentiment - somehow I think your word fits better! Merle

  18. Hi Jackie, as one of my goals for 2008 is to not spend so very much time online anymore, I’ve only read this today, too late for the hat :) But not too late for my congrats to your fivehundredth post and let me tell you that when my journey into bookbinding started, your blog (and the forum you initiated) was one of - if not the one - top web adress for me! And still is. Thank you for all your time & work put into this - and carry on :) Cheers, Astrid.

Thanks for breaking your Internet “fast” to stop by and say hello. And thank you to everyone that left comments and congratulations. I’m looking forward to seeing what the new year brings.
