Friday musings…

Filed under: Morning Musings — jackie @ 5:24 pm

Good afternoon readers.

I’ve been busy studying art history and writing my first speech for my public speaking class but I wanted to drop in and say hi and share a little books arts info with you.

I’m hoping that once I settle into a routine with the school work I will be able to create a few new tutorials to share with you.

Of note:

The San Francisco Center for the Book is having their 4th Annual Street Fair this weekend where they will be printing large linoleum blocks on the street with a steamroller. Proceeds of the day go to benefit the center. You can find out more information here.

Bookfest returns in November. From the site…BookFest will showcase the best contemporary artist books from the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Collectors and book-curious visitors will find volumes crafted from unusual materials and utilizing a wide variety of printing techniques. Whether you are already a collector or just starting to investigate this innovative medium, you will find books in every size, type, and price.

The website of book artist Ed Hutchins has a lot of great examples of his work as well as information on the book arts. Check out the special features section for some interesting articles.

I hope everyone has a great evening.
