The passing of a book artist…

Filed under: Morning Musings, Recent News — jackie @ 8:04 pm

I found out yesterday that Edna Sara Lazaron died Thursday at the age of 83. Edna was a pioneer in the field of book arts. I never officially met her though I lived down the street from her for a time when I was growing up. I didn’t know about her as an artist back then but have heard alot about her since taking up bookbinding. You can read a bit about her life in this article from our local paper.

Here are a few links to sites with examples of her book art.

For those of you patiently waiting, I will not be able to release the album guide until next weekend. I have a few more edits to do and want to have it proof read by someone to make sure all the steps are easily understandable.

Also, I will be away from the home computer for the next few days for a much needed visit with the parental units. I’m taking a laptop and will have a decent hookup but I’m not sure if I’ll have time to post in the mornings. They go to bed with the chickens so I’ll try to check in during the evenings. :)
