The “B” Word…

Filed under: Morning Musings — jackie @ 7:45 am

That would be “Birthday”!

Of course that would be mine, which is today. :) I’ll be hitting the road here soon to have some breakfast and haunt a few book and stationary shops with my friend who has the same birthday as mine (Hi Holly). We have a yearly tradition of doing something together each year on our birthday.

I have started my first springback binding. I have the pages sewn together. It will be a fairly thick book. (almost two inches.) The spine will be leather and the covers will be canvas. My friend Boots who works at JoAnn’s fabric brought me a few of the heavy duty tubes that the rolls of fabric are wrapped around to use for springback spines. In the video by Peter Goodwin, he shows how to use heavy cardboard tubing for his spines instead of building them from scratch. This is just one of the cool things that makes the video worth getting.

I hope everyone has a great day.
