Here are a few more educational opportunities for this summer.

The Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, TN is offering a Pop Up Book class taught by Carol Barton Aug. 5-11, 2007.

This was sent in by one of my readers:

The eight biennial Focus on Book Arts Conference (formally the Oregon Book Arts Conference), June 28 - July 1, 2007 offers four days of classes in the book arts–bookbinding, papermaking, printmaking, calligraphy, artists books, journals–at all skill levels from beginner to advanced. You can pick and choose your classes, coming for only a day or the whole conference. Please visit the following:  http://www.focusonbookarts.org/ for a complete list of workshops being offered is listed along with all the information about this conference which will take place in Forest Grove, Oregon (25 miles east of Portland).  You can download the brochure and registration form.  For any questions, please e-mail conferenceinfo@focusonbookarts.org

These are workshops offered by some of the Book Arts Forum members:

There is a one week workshop in the beautiful Door County Peninsula in Ellison Bay, Wiscosin at The Clearing School. The workshop “3D Paper Magic: Books, Boxes and More” will be taught by artist Joan Michaels Paque July 29 - August 4.

Patrice Baldwin will be teaching a series of one and two day workshops beginning from June 1 and running through the fall season. These will be held here in Tucson AZ in her new studios. You can go to her website to see some of the structures I’ll be teaching.

I will be drawing for the final Friday prize today at about noon. Everybody’s name will go back in the jar for the grand prize which I’ll draw sometime tomm. Good luck!
