Good morning readers.
It looks like it is going to be a sunny and busy day for me here in the burbs. We had a few days of much needed rain and it seems to have moved along to some other area now.
I am crazy busy preparing for the art show as well as three exams this week and all I really want to do is lay down on the couch and rest.
If you haven’t checked out the Etsy Street Team’s blog, surf on over and you’ll find lots of great information like a tutorial on making a book with a double-layered diamond X technique as well as a great post on craft show setup.
I may have posted this before but it’s worth posting again. For those of you doing or considering doing shows, printmaker Maria Arango has written a guide to selling at festivals called Art Festival Guide: The Artist’s Guide to Selling in Art Festivals From the site…”Making a living as an artist, the brave way! Entertaining and thorough account on how to launch a career as an art festival artist. A book for brave artists who embark on the treacherous and most wonderful adventure of selling artful creations in art festivals and generally directly to the public. What you will need, how to choose shows, sales at the booth, marketing and promotion, setting goals for continued success, display tips, tricks of the trade, staying healthy and much more.”
She has a few previews of the book available in PDF format for you to check out before you buy it. I’ve been following her site for years and she used to have a section with information on doing shows that was very informative. I imagine that that information as well as much more is available in the book.
I hope everyone has a great day.
