Baking in hopes of fall…

Filed under: Morning Musings, Recipes — jackie @ 8:52 am

Good morning readers…

This morning I watched a thick fog roll in. It’s been a while since we’ve had one. I’m happy not to have to be on the road to a class this morning. The neighborhood freeloader ducks came by for breakfast also. My place is a couple of blocks from the lake so it’s like that little diner that sits on the outskirts of town that seems to be open all the time and serves a great meal. They come, they eat and then they waddle away.

I have been harboring a sinus infection in my head for several days now and I am ready for it to move on. I’ve been doing things to help it pack like tons of vitamin C, Ibuprofen and Zircam tablets but it is a stuborn squatter. :(

I’m prepping for a class at Jerry’s this afternoon. I’m glad to have finally gotten a few new students interested.

Ok…show of hands…who now owns a Workmate?

I’m fighting the recession of fall with baked goods. Thank goodness for AC. Means I can crank up the oven and still be comfortable. So far this weekend I’ve baked a Blueberry Buttermilk Bundt cake, pizza and this morning I’ll be baking buttermilk biscuits with country ham. (email me for the recipe) This afternoon I’ll be putting on a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup in hopes that it will help drive away the sinus infection. It’s my friend’s mother’s recipe.

A couple more Flickr sites for inspiration (for Cris :) )…

Aya Yoshida

Jo36 Some nice calligraphy work here also

Jenni Gunter also check out her website. I love her linoleum block printed book covers.

I hope everyone has a great day.
