Friday morning musings…

Filed under: Morning Musings — jackie @ 8:12 am

Good morning readers.

It’s going to be a hot one here in Va. Beach today. It’s also the start of the 31st annual Harborfest in downtown Norfolk. This year it’s being held in conjunction with Sail Virginia 2007. There will be a bunch of tall ships in the harbor. The ships come here about every four years. If nothing else, I’m hoping to get down to see the ships this weekend. As a kid I had dreams of being a pirate. I learned how to sail one summer at camp and I’d love to have a sail boat of my own. It’s a dream that seems to elude me. It’s not like there’s nowhere to sail here. :)

I just wanted to remind all you local people that I’ll be giving a demo at Jerry’s tomm. (Sat. 6/09) from 11-2.

A site of note this morning, Natalie over at the Papermuse blog posted a nice tutorial on making an accordian box/file yesterday.

YouTube bookbinding videos of not:

Dr Deckle and Mr. Hide an interesting little video that describes the process of hand bookbinding. It’s narrated by Dr. Deckle and Mr. Hide. I find Mr. Hide really annoying but the information good for anyone wanting to know an overview of the process. You can see it in a better format over on the website of Experience Press.

Here is an interesting, but quiet, video on making a paperbound books.

Here’s one in a series of three videos on Japanese bookbinding. I can’t understand a thing they say but the books are interesting to look at.

I hope everyone has a great day.
