Wednesday morning musings and 131 days…

Filed under: Holiday Ideas, Morning Musings, stuff to buy — jackie @ 7:46 am

Good morning readers…

Yesterday was another beautiful day here in the south land. Being outside was enjoyable.

On that note, hurricane season is upon us with lots of activity out in the Atlantic but luckily nothing we need to be concerned about in our area just yet.

I’ve found that a great place to buy used textbooks is Craigslist. I can get all three books I need for the price of two used books from the campus store. I swear they (or someone) make a killing on textbooks as a new one runs from $90-$145. Then they buy them back for really cheap and sell them as used for about two thirds the new price.

Ideas for the Holidays…

If you have an AC Moore art and craft store near you check them out. They have pretty decent backpacks and messenger bags for as little as $5. These are by no means fancy but seem to be made well and with a little creative thought and the addition of a little paint, some patches or other accessories could be made to look really cool and would be a great gift for the student or bibliophile in your life. Don’t forget to take your 40% off coupon with you.

Speaking of bibliophiles…the Holy Grail of supplies and gifts for one is Levenger. Nuff said. :D

This tutorial could be used to make softbound notebooks using photos you have taken. These would make nice gifts to put aside for that time when you need a quick gift for someone or for that time when you remember that you forgot someone.

I hope everyone has a great day.
